JOHN CLODFELTER IS KILLED BY FALL FROM BED, BREAKING NECK

 

 

John Clodfelter, aged 43,  living in the Dye school community about five miles southeast of Gainesville, was killed under very unusual circumstances about 10 o’clock  Sunday night, his neck being broken by a fall from his bed.

 

Deceased was a very heavy man, weighing over 300 pounds.  He ate a hearty meal last night and retired early, but having a touch of indigestion he had raised upon one elbow in bed, when in some manner he lost his balance and rolled out upon the floor.  Falling upon his head in a way that broke his neck.  His death was almost instantaneous.

 

Mr. Clodfelter was a well known and highly respected citizen.  He was born, reared and died in the same house.  He is survived by his wife and three children, one daughter and two sons as follows:  Mrs. Hubert  Bell who lives near Woodbine and Jesse and Ralph Clodfelter, at home.  Deceased was a brother-in-law of W.W. Farr of this city.  Funeral services were held at the home at 4 o’clock this afternoon.
