General:

He left the Netherlands on 7 July 1915 departing from Rotterdam on the Nieuv Amsterdam, South Holland and arriving port of New York on 18 July, 1915. His distintation Sanborn, Obrien County, Iowa where he was to join a friend, John Bouivence. In 1919 with his small family they move to Grand Haven, Michigan where they reside for the rest of their lives.
