Notes
General:
Henry, his wife, and three of their sons sailed from Plymouth on the Mary and John . They arrived at Dorchester MA 31 May 1630 . Their youngest son and two daughters followed a few years later.
The first Wolcott family in the American colonies was that of Henry Wolcott of Tolland, Somerset, and his wife, Elizabeth Saunders. Henry was the son of John Wolcott, miller, of Tolland, Somerset, son of John Wolcott, miller, of Tolland, son of Thomas Wolcott who was on the Tolland Subsidy Tax Roll of 1525.
Henry and his wife Elizabeth and son Simon are all buried in the churchyard of the First Congregational Church at Windsor CT. As for Gauldon Manor,it has been ascertained that the Wolcotts never lived in the house called "Gauldon Manor". They owned a portion of the manor of Gauldon consisting of three houses and a mill. The actual house they lived in is believed to be a farm now known as Watersmeet Farm, adjascent to what was once the mill, about a mile from Gauldon Manor.
Pictures of Gaulden Manor appear in Wolcott Genealogy pub by Society of Desc. of Henry Wolcott.......1912 copy
