Richard (Rich) J. Crouch 4, (Richard 3, John 2, Richard 1) was born June 6, 1826, and migrated to Ballard County in 1842 (Does not appear in tax lists until 1852 (see index to tax lists)); married Martha [7] Massie, daughter of Hugh Massie in McCracken County in April 27,1854[8]. She was born January 5, 1828. He died at the age of 42 years of age, on April 2, 1870 and she died Sunday October 28, 1900 at 6 p m due to dropsy.

1. Martha Ellen Crouch 5 born: March 11,1855 in Hinkleville, Ballard Co, KY; died 1940 at Wickliffe, Ballard County, Kentucky; married Will H. Wray born 1854 on November 12, 1875. [4]

2. H. Thomas Crouch 5 (MD) born: 1856 in Bardwell, Carlisle Co, KY

3. Richard Bolen Crouch 5 born Sep. 22,1859 in Ballard Co, KY; died Jan 24, 1940, buried at Antioch Baptist Cemetery, Ballard County, KY.

4. Mary E. "Mollie" Crouch 5 born: 1863 in Ballard Co, KY

5. Susan F. Crouch 5 born December 11, 1865 in Hinkleville, Ballard Co, KY ; died February 2, 1906. Married Andrew Jackson Turner in 1899; he was born 1853; died August 29, 1905. Buried in Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.

6. William Henry "Willie" Crouch 5 born September 18, 1867 in Hinkleville, Ballard Co, KY; died May 2, 1953 with burial at Antioch Church cemetery. [9]

[1] Grantor R. J. Crouch, along with his wife Martha Crouch sold 60 acres to Grantee M.K. Howl on October 20, 1868 in Ballard County.

[3] According to family tradition Richard Crouch became a physician, John Crouch his brother became a lawyer. Both moved to Ballard County about 1842. Richard Crouch M.D. lived near Blandville, Ballard Co. and is buried in a cemetery on the family farm.

Dr. Hugh T. Crouch, a rising young physician with a bright future before him, was born September 10, 1856, in Ballard County, KY, where he has always resided. His father, Richard J. Crouch, a native of Christian County, KY, came to Ballard County in 1842 and died in 1870 aged about 48 years. Richard J. espoused Martha, daughter of Hugh MASSIE of Christian Co KY, and to them were born Martha E. (Wray), Richard B., Mary E., Susie F., and William H., as well as our subject. Subject was favored in youth with a good English education. He was married May 27, 1884, to Miss Mollie U. Willingham, daughter of George W. and Esther A. (Peck) Willingham of Ballard County, KY. She was born October 17, 1864. In 1870 subject commenced the study of medicine with Dr. D P Juett of Blandville, KY, and in 1880 attended lectures at the Missouri Medical College, St Louis, where he graduated in 1882. He is now successfully engaged in the practice of his chosen profession in his native county.

(note - the above lists daughter Mary E. while other sources list her as Mollie. I believe Mary E.'s nickname was Mollie)

WILLIAM HENRY CROUCH: 1930 Dist 5 Ballard KY, apparently he never married, he has his widowed sister Martha E Crouch-Wray age 75 and a niece Flocey Flossie L Turner age 27 living with him.
