        d. 1 Dec 1862 unknown place  He is not buried in the cemetery with his Mother. We have wondered if he died during the trip back to Switzerland or died in Switzerland.

After the death of his wife, Fridolin Hoesli took his three young sons and returned to Glarus, Switzerland. We must remember at this time the Civil War was in progress and I would expect he was concerned for the safety of his sons in this time of war. I suspect he took a northern route to travel because of the war and expect he left from one of the northern ports.

Sometime after the death of Margaret Hoesli, Fridolin took his sons and returned to Switzerland. There are no departure records for vessels leaving the United States.

Fredolin and Verona Hosle arrived at the port 16 May 1864 at the port of New York aboard the St Bernhard. Fredolin and Heinrich, his sons from his first marriage accompanied them. The youngest son, Jacob was not with them. The record states Wisconsin was their destination.
