Edward C. TRACY born 18 Aug 1839 NY died 1906 Bowling Green, Pike Co., MO served in the 3rd Ohio Cavalry, Company K. His obituary states that he served 3 years and was discharged at Edgefield, now a suburb of Nashville, TN. He was married to Rosa Jane GENSON about 1861 and his first child, Levi G.K. TRACY was born somewhere in Indiana 3 Apr 1862. This couple's 2nd child, a daughter, died in infancy. They had no other children. He appears with his family on the 1850 U.S. Census living in Eden, Erie Co.,NY; they have not been located in 1860; he received a land grant for his military service in Mason Co., MI and appears there in 1870 in Sherman Township. He has not been located in 1880. He is on the 1890 in Badger Township in Vernon Co., MO, which shows an enlistment date of 15 Feb 1864 and discharge of 10 Aug 1865, length of service, 1 year, 6 months, 5 days (not 3 years as shown in his obit, unless he served at other times). He appears in 1900 with his 2nd wife and her son, living in Cuivre Township in Ward 2 in the Town of Bowling Green on Science Street in Pike Co., MO. He filed for a Military Invalid Pension in 1898, a year after his 1st wife died and shortly after his remarriage. His surviving widow filed for pension in 1913, both being approved. His grave in Bowling Green City Cemetery is marked by a military marker bearing his service as shown above.
