     Odus G. Daves THE NEWS HERALD, March 22, 1928 (exerpts) The sudden and unexpected death of Mr. O.G. Daves,well-known Morganton citizen, which ocurred near Nebo Saturday afternoonwas a great shock to his family and friends. Mr. Daves hd driven to Neboto see about engagin a nurse for his wife who is an invalid and whosecondition has been critical, when the final summons came to him. He haddriven away from the house when it was noticed that his car drew up tothe sid eof the road and stoppped. Upon investigation it was found thathe had expired, sitting at the wheel. He was born on 16 August 1866. He married Bessie Mae Houck, daughter of William Kelley Houck and Nina Virginia Nelson, on 22 February 1913 at Burke Co., North Carolina. Odus G. Daves died on 17 March 1928 at age 61.
