George W. Dellinger, Jr., 84, of Manchester, died at 7:50 p.m. Sunday at Manor Care Health Services North. He was the husband of Beulah I. (Weigle) Dellinger, to whom he was married for 53 years.

The service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 4360 Board Road, Manchester. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery. Viewing will be 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church. The William E. Little Funeral Home Inc., 60 S. Main St., Manchester, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Dellinger was born May 7, 1915, in Florin, Lancaster County.

He was the son of the late George W. and Katie (Trimmer) Dellinger.

He retired from Northeastern School District after five years of service. Prior to that, he worked for Kathryn Beecher for 37 years.

He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, United Methodist Men, Manchester Athletic Association, Manchester Ambulance Club and Mount Wolf Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2493, and life member of Union Fire Company. He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II.

Mr. Dellinger also is survived by a son, Alan R. Dellinger of Carlisle; a daughter, Marcia R. Dellinger of Manchester; a brother, Irvin Dellinger of York; and a sister, Naomi Sipe of York.

Officiating at the service will be his pastor, the Rev. Keith J. Schmuck.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 4360 Board Road, Manchester 17345."

Death was caused by a complication of diseases. He was seventy-eight years old. He leaves the daughter, Mrs. Shermeyer, Mt. Wolf; three grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Anna Shue, Hellam R.D. 1, and three brothers, John Dellinger and Samuel Dellinger, Mechanicsburg and Linwill Dellinger, York R.D. 5. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday with services at the Shermeyer residence, followed by concluding services at St. Paul's Evangelical church. Highmount Interment will be made in the adjoining cemetery." On 11 September 1936 at York Co., Pennsylvania. His body was interred in September 1936 at Hellam Twp., York Co., Pennsylvania, at Highmount Cemetery.

Of Dallastown Dies

Dallastown - Following a lingering illness of a complication of diseases, George W. Dellinger, 47 Franklin street, died at 8:15 a.m. yesterday at the Sacred Heart home, Philadelphia, where he had been a patient for the past several months. He was 54 years old.

A painter by trade, Mr. Delligner was a member of Bethlehem EUB church and also belonged to the Rescue Fire company.

The following survive: His wife, Mrs. Alverta M. Dellinger; one son, Levere E. Dellinger, York; two daughters, Mrs. John Willwert, Stewartstown RD 2, and Mrs. Glenn Grove, at home, one grandson and these brothers and sisters, Mrs. John Bupp, York RD 2; McKinley Dellinger, York; Mrs. George Hess, Pleasureville; Mrs. Stewart Ness, York; Theodore Dellinger, here; Mrs. Harry Ness, Dallastown RD 1, and James Rohrbaugh, Seven Valleys.

Private funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at the late home. His pastor, Rev. C. Guy Stambach, will officiate. Interment will be in the local Union cemetery. Funeral Director Purd A. Reidel, this place, has charge of arrangments."
