"Pleasureville - John H. Flury Sr., 78, of York County Hospital and Home, formerly of Pleasureville, died at 5:20 p.m. Tuesday at York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Charlotte L. (Dellinger) Flury.
The will be 1 p.m. today at the Everhart-Jackson-Heffner Funeral Home Inc., 1205 E. Market St., York. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be 12 to 1 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Flury was born in Wrightsville. He was the son of the late Howard J. and Margaret (Weidner) Flury.
He was a typesetter at Maple Press Co., where he was employed 48 years. He was a member of Pleasureville United Methodist Church.
A member of Central Baseball League York County Hall of Fame, he belonged to Central Baseball League Old Timers, the Communications Workers of America Local Union 14839, and was a former member of Hawk Gunning Club and American Legion Pleasureville Post 799.
Mr. Flury is survived by two sons, John H. Flury Jr. and Barry L. Flury, both of Springettsbury Township; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Henry Flury of York; and a sister Mary Jackson of Dallastown. He was preceded in death by a son, Gary L. Flury Sr.
Officiating at the service will be his pastor, the Rev. Steven A. Livermore.
