Henry was born at
Derbyshire, England, circa 1639. He married
Eleanor (Helen) (?) at
Darby, Delaware Co., Pennsylvania. Henry Gibbons was church membership on 23 June 1661; At a Quaker meeting at Eyam in the High Peak, Derbyshire, at the house of Elizabeth Deane, 31 men and 10 women were arrested, among that number was Henry Gibbons. He immigrated in 1682; Immigrated to Philadelphia in 1682 from Parividge, Derbyshire, England. His certificate of removal is dated 27th day, 5th month of 1682 and is from the Ashford Matlock and Moneyash Meeting.
He was tax roll in 1689 at
Pennsylvania; In 1689 Henry is on a list of "Land Holders" as owning 200 acres. He left a will on 28 February 1698 at
Darby Twp., Delaware Co., Pennsylvania; In Henry Gibbons' Will he mentions his wife as Helen Gibins. Also mentioned are his daughter, Mary Scothorn, wife of Robert Scothorn, Henry's son, Henry, daughter Sarah Johnson and his daughter Ann Sellers. Henry names his son-in-law Robert Scothorn to be his executor.
The will was written on 28 Feb. 1698 and proved on 25 April 1702. Henry died on 10 February 1702 at
Darby, Delaware Co., Pennsylvania.
