     John was born on 5 December 1762. He was the son of John Herbach. John Herbach Jr. was He owned the flouring mill two miles southeast of York, on the Plank Road, known as the Landis Mill. He married Elizabeth Spengler on 1 October 1786. John died on 5 October 1800 at age 37. His body was interred in October 1800 at York, York Co., Pennsylvania. He was buried in the graveyard of the German Reformed church in York, but upon its abandonment, his remains were removed to the Prospect Hill Cemetery..
