Philip was born at Lower Windsor Twp., York Co., Pennsylvania, in 1772. He was the son of Philip Jacobs and Mary Gardner. He married Catherine Elizabeth Attich. Philip died in 1819 at York Co., Pennsylvania. His body was interred in 1819 at Lower Windsor Twp., York Co., Pennsylvania, at Canadochly Cemetery. Philip's tombstone reads:

"Grandfather: Philip Jacobs, born 1772; died, 1819.".
