Samuel Leibhart Passes Away Six Days After 93rd Birthday

Wrightsville, Sept 19. - The death of Samuel R. Leibhart, prominent retired farmer of this locality, and oldest man in town, occurred at 12:30 this afternoon at the residence of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Bailey, Hallam street, this place. Mr. Leibhart was age 93 years and six days. He had been making his home with his daughter, Mrs. Bailey, since moving from his home along the Five-Mile level, several years ago. Death was due to old age.
He is survived by six sons and five daughters: Mrs. Peter Bailey, of Wrightsville; Elmer Leibhart, East Prospect; Mrs. Barton Gnab, York; Mrs. Moses Dellinger, Wrightsville R.D; Frank H. Leibhart, Wrightsville; Mrs. David Keller, Hallam, R.D; Oscar Leibhart, Wrightsville, R.D; Byrd Leibhart, Wrightsville, R.D; Charles Leibhart, Wrightsville, R.D. and Samuel Leibhart, Wrightsville, R.D. Also two brothers and two sisters: Zacharias Leibhart, Wrightsville; John Leibhart, York; Mrs. Angeline Gehley, Philadelphia and Mrs. William Strickler, Wrightsville. Twenty-seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild also survive.
The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bailey. Further services will be conducted in Canadochly Reformed church. Rev. Walter E. Garret and Rev. C.C. Mizener will have charge of the services. Interment will be made in the Canadochly cemetery. George W. Anstine, funeral director of East Prospect, has charge of funeral arrangements."
