Washington Co., Pennsylvania; May the 14th 1844. The Last Will and Testament of John Baile of Washington County, Pennsylvania. I, John Baile, considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of sound mind and memory do make and publish this my Last Will and Testament in manner form following. First, I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife, Hanaha Baile, the whole and sole control of the house and garden, spring and spring house and twenty bushels of wheat and fifteen bushels of corn each year of her lifetime. And one hundred weight of beef and pork each and the privilege of raising poultry for her own use and coffee and tea and sugar as much as she needs and one cow and four sheep to be kept on the farm on which I now live and a sufficient quantity of fuel coal and wood and, in case of sickness, a good careful nurse to be provided for her attendance. One bed and bedding to be selected by herself together with the cupboard and kitchen furniture. Second, I give and bequeath to my son, Isaac Bails, all of the farm on which I now live and for him to furnish his mother with all the above items off said farm and the grain in the bushel and the grain in the ground to be divided between Isaac and Abraham Baile. And Isaac to have the stud horse and Abraham to have the bay horse. Isaac, Abraham, and their mother to have one cow each. The farming utensils to be divided equally between Isaac and Abraham Bails. Six hogs to be left on the farm for the use of the house and all the rest of the stock to be appraised and sold. I give and bequeath to my son, Abraham, all of the farm on which the saw mill stands. I give and bequeath to my daughter, Sophiah Zedeker, the house in which she now lives and spring and garden and twenty acres of land around the same adjoining the creek and land. Also, I authorize my Executors to sell the farm on which my son, Martin Baile, now lives adjoining lands ..*.. William Smith ..*.. Andrew Baneman and others. And be divided in the manner following: to my eldest son, Michael Baile, two hundred and fifty dollars. To my second son, Martin Baile five hundred dollars. To my third son, Ruben Baile, twenty-five dollars. To my eldest daughter, Susan Griffith, fifty dollars. Also I authorize my Executor to give to my grandson, Abraham Baile, son of Michael Baile, seventy-five dollars and one suit of clothes at the age of twenty. Also I authorize to leave in the hands of the purchaser of the farm three hundred dollars at six percent interest to be paid yearly to my wife Hanaha Baile during her lifetime and at her death to be equally divided amongst my heirs together with all the money that maybe owing to me, if any. I make and ordain John Caldwell, Esq. and my son, Isaac Baile, Executors of this my Last Will and Testament and for this I order first all my just debts to be paid together with my funeral expenses in witness where of I have hereunto set my hand and seal this day and year above date.

WILL: Be it remembered that on the24th of July A.D. 1847 before me William Workman, Register, for the probate of Wills and granting Letters of Administration in and for said county came Jared Boals, Richard Graham and John Nesbit the subscribing witnesses to the aforegoing Last Will and Testament of John Baile deceased. Who being duly sworn as the law directs. Do dispose and say that they were personally present and did see the Testator within named execute the foregoing Will. And heard him publish, pronounce and declare the same as and for his Last Will and Testament. And that they subscribed their names as witnesses thereto at his request, in his presence, and in the presence of each other. And that at the time of executing the said Will, he was of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge, observation and belief.
