     CENSUS: Listed with his parents in the 1850 and 1860 South Carolina censuses, ages 9 and 19 respectively. 1880 South Carolina, Chester Co., lists the following family: Thomas Peden, age 39, born in South Carolina, farmer; Judson Peden, age 8, son, born in South Carolina; Maggie Peden, age 5, daughter, born in South Carolina; David Peden, age 2, son, born in South Carolina; Wm. Peden, age 3 months, born in February, son, born in South Carolina; Irene McCreary, age 32, sister in law, born in South Carolina; Jane G. Crawford, age 80, grandmother, born in South Carolina. BURIED: Cedar Shoals Cemetery. His body was interred at Chester Co., South Carolina. Thomas was born at South Carolina on 10 June 1841. He was the son of David McCalla Peden and Margaret M. Hood. He married Sarah Jane McCreary in 1868. He married Frances Irene McCreary on 17 November 1881. Thomas died on 21 February 1908 at age 66.
