EMIGRATED TO AMERICA: Robert Pyle, Jr. arrived in Pennsylvania on the ship `Bristol Comfort' with John Reed master along with his wife Ann and daughter Sarah in 1683. He settled in Bethel Township, Chester Co. Prior to his removal he had lived at Horton, Bishops Canning, Wiltshire and is described as a maltster. He was a justice of the county court by 1685. He had been granted a warrant for part of 250 acres 12th day, 8 month 1683, and was on a jury in Chester Co. with Edward Beaser 14 day 10 month 1683. He sold to his brother Nichloas 100 acres in Concord Twp. 27 day 9 month 1686. His body was interred at
Pennsylvania.
Robert was born at
Stanton Barnard, Wiltshire, England, on 29 December 1660. He was the son of
Robert Pyle Sr. and
Martha (?). He married
Ann Stovey at
Concord Monthly Meeting, Hilperton, Wiltshire, England, on 16 November 1681. He married
Susannah Deeble in 1725. Robert died in 1730 at
Bethel Twp., Delaware Co., Pennsylvania.
