     Robert was born at Ireland in 1828. He immigrated; According to the book "The Famine Immigrants: Lists of Irish Immigrants Arriving at the Port of New York 1846 - 1851, Volume V" edited by Ira A. Glazier and published by the Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc of Baltimore in 1985, a Robert Reed age 20 laborer, arrived in New York aboard the ship New York last out of Liverpool on 18 Dec 1849. This could be our ancestor, for his age is about right. There is also a Robert Reed, age 19 (laborer) who along with a Mary Reed, age 21 (spinster) arrived in New York aboard the ship Vandalia last from Liverpool on 16 Nov 1848. This could also be our ancestor. Further research will have to be done to conclude which one of these Robert Reed's is our ancestor if either one is.
He married Sarah Sample at Monroe Co., Indiana, on 11 May 1856. Robert was listed as the head of a family on the 1860 Census at Van Buren Twp., Monroe Co., Indiana. Robert was listed as the head of a family on the 1870 Census at Van Buren Twp., Monroe Co., Indiana. Robert died on 16 January 1879 at Monroe Co., Indiana. His body was interred in January 1879 at Richland Twp., Monroe Co., Indiana, at Richland Cemetery. He lived in 1910 at Van Buren Twp., Monroe Co., Indiana; Bloomington City Directory, 1909-1910, lists the estate of Robert Reed in Van Buren Twp., 299 acres.

He married Nellie Myrtle Brown at Louisville, Jefferson Co., Kentucky, on 18 January 1913. Robert Gordon Reed was land contract in 1913; In 1913, Robert and Samuel Reed purchased land in Saskatchewan which they later farmed. Robert died on 21 February 1966 at Saskatchewan, Canada, at age 76. His body was interred in February 1966 at Saskatchewan, Canada.

     Rosanna was born at Loreburn, Saskatchewan, Canada, on 19 October 1918. She was the daughter of Robert Gordon Reed and Nellie Myrtle Brown. Moved to the United States in July, 1937 and lived with her Aunt Mary Shigley, who is my grandmother, at Mays, Indiana. She married Russell Havely on 30 January 1942. Rosanna was divorced from Russell Havely. She married Walter L. Philips at Indiana on 1 July 1961. Rosanna Reed died on 31 July 2001 at Indiana at age 82.
