Jane was born at
Indiana on 15 November 1845. She was the daughter of
Charles Strong Weir and
Eliza Strong. She married
James Alexander Strong at
Monroe Co., Indiana, on 27 April 1871. Jane was listed as
James Alexander Strong's wife on the 1880 Census at
Richland Twp., Monroe Co., Indiana. Jane was listed as the head of a family on the 1900 Census at
Richland Twp., Monroe Co., Indiana. She lived on 10 August 1906 at
Washington; Article from the August 10, 1906 Bloomington Telephone by James A. Woodburn about the State of Washington, Pullman area. "We find quite an Indiana colony here. Mrs. Strong is living here in a fine new home on "College Hill"; Robert, the youngest of her boys, is with her, also Miss Ethel, class of 1901 in Indiana, who has won sucess as a teacher and is now in the Pullman High School. Miss Stella is married to a Mr. Dixon, a prosperous carpenter in Pullman. Jane died on 11 May 1915 at
Grandview, Yakima Co., Washington, at age 69. She was New Tag Obituary from the Saturday May 13, 1915 Bloomington Daily Telegraph:
"Mrs. Jennie Strong a resident of this county 6 miles west of town until some ten years ago is dead at her adopted home at Grandview, Washington according to a message that was received last night by Mrs. Turner. The remains are expected to arrive Sunday afternoon and will be taken to the home of Samuel Wylie E. 3rd St. from which place the funeral will be help Monday at 10:00 with burial at Rose Hill. Mrs. Strong was about 65 and a sister of the late Dr. Robert Weir and made her home with her children. She was a devote member of the U.P. Church and her many old friends here will learn with much regret of her death. There are 6 children, but Mr. Strong has been dead a number of years."

Bloomington, Monroe Co., Indiana, at Rose Hill Cemetery.
