Leola, Tourist |
Same travelers, same trip, again 1957, this time in the middle of Concord Bridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.
Pity that Leola didn’t live to know that Oliver Wheeler II, her fifth great-grandfather, wore a sword at the Battle of Concord Bridge on April 19, 1775, with which our Revolutionary War officially began. She would have relished that knowledge. If her sons had followed her persistent, loving counsel, succumbing to the addiction of family history within her lifetime, she’d have had a lot more of that to rejoice about. We’re laboring to make up for it, in our non-reclining years. |
