On the way, they stopped in Yellowstone and at Mount Rushmore. Ricky doesn’t appear too impressed.

One recollection: we had our first Colonel Sanders’ Kentucky Fried Chicken in this general vicinity. Before they were everywhere, and while the Colonel was still alive. Ken and Duane were both notably tickled by the discovery.

After a pleasant visit (see the photo of Leola, Verna, and the Indian), including a real pow-wow and a stop at Little Big Horn, Leola and Duane returned to San Bernardino, and the younger generations pressed on to Boston.
