In the spring of 1967, H Duane Anderson received a call to preside over the French Mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We’ve lost track of the journal that Leola kept through the rest of their time together. When it surfaces, we’ll enrich this account with its contents.

For now, we can only note that they rented out the San Bernardino homestead, arranged for a three-year leave of absence from all their positions, involvements and obligations at home, took part in a brief period of orientation and training in Salt Lake City, and flew to Paris.

We see them seated formally in the Mission Headquarters office at 3, rue de Lota, Paris XVI, with the Harts (their predecessors). This was the day (June, we think) when our folks arrived and the Harts departed.
