The historic community of Lexington, now (2002) simply awash in our family treasures, started out in the 1630’s and 1640’s as the Precinct of Cambridge Farms, within the Massachusetts Bay Colony’s New Towne.

In 1924, Edwin B. Worthen, a local historian and teacher at Lexington High School, researched the town’s early history and prepared a series of maps and other displays to illustrate, as I understand it, lessons and lectures that he presented. Cary Public Library still has his materials, and the following items appear here by the Library’s kindness.
