New Boston Inn |
Caught Willard in 2007, walking out of Sandisfield’s only lodging-house, the New Boston Inn, which dates from 1737. It’s neither new nor particularly Bostonian, but quiet and charming. These days it’s listed as a bed-and-breakfast. I stayed there (in Chamber #1, at the top of the stairs — the two upper windows on the left) on my visits in 2007 and 2009. Kinda expensive for our budget, but very pleasant. |

In 2009, we three met for lunch in the Gentlemen’s Parlor (ground floor; the rightmost two windows that show in the photo above), and they let me snap them with my slick new iPhone. |
