This is the last Will and Testamen of me Thomas Holton the elder of Tingewick in the County of Bucks Yeoman who am of sound and disposing mind memory and uderstanding I Give and bequeath unto the six Children of my son Thomas Holton the sum of One Hundred Pounds to be equally divided amongst them part and share alike when and as they shall severally and respectively attain tha Age of twenty one years or be married which shall first happen and in case either or any of them shall depart this life under the age of twenty one years and unmarried then I Give and bequeath the share or shares of him her or them so dying unto the survivors or successors of them in equal shares and proportions if more than one and if but one then the whole to such one Also I Give and bequeath unto my Grandson John Holton(one of my said six Granchildren and one of the said children of my said son Thomas Holton) the legacy or sum of Five pounds over and above and exclusive of his share of the said sum of one hundred pouns hereinbefore given and bequeathed to him Also I Give and bequeath unto my son William Holton the legacy or sum of Twenty pounds Also I Give and bequeath unto my Grandson Joseph Holton (son of my said son William Holton)the legacy or sum of Ten poundsAlso I Give and bequesth unto Mary Holton (widow of my son Joseph Holton deceased) the leagacy or sum of Five pounds Also I Giveand bequeath unto the four other Chldren of my said son Joseph Holton deceased the sum of Twenty pounds ot be equally divided abong them part and share alike when and as they shall severally and respectively attain the Age of twenty one years or be married which shall happen and in case either or any of them shall depart this life under the Age of twenty one years and unmarried Then I Give and bequeath the share or shares of him her or them so dying unto the survivors or successors of them in equal shares and proportions if more than one and if but one then the whole to such one Also I Give and bequeath all my wearing Apparel of every description unto my said son William Holton Also I Give and bequeath all my Household Goods and furniture of every denomination unto all the Children of my said sons William Holton and Joseph Holton (except Joseph Holton the son of my said son William Holton) to be equally divided amongst them by and at the discretion of my executors and as nearly as can be part and share alike Also I Give and bequeath all the rest and residue of my goods Chattels effects and personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever if any shall remain after payment of my funeral and testamentary expences just debts and legacies hereinbefore given and bequeathed unto all the Children of my said Son William Holton to be equally divided amongst them by and at the Discretion of my Executors and as nearly as can be part and share alike Provided always nevertheless and it is my will and desire and do hereby direct that in case my ready money and monies to arise by paing in my securities for money and payment of the debts due and owing to me ahsll not be sufficient or shall be insufficient (after payment of my funeral and Testamentary expences and just debts) fully to pay all the pecuniary legacies hereinbefore given and bequeathed that an abatement or deduction shall be made from each of the said pecuniary legacies after the ratio or proportion that each of such legacies bears the whole Amount of such deficiency or insufficiency And lastly I hereby nominate and appoint William Fowler of Tingewick aforesaid Baker and Stephen Webb of Buckingham in the said County of Bucks Shoemaker Executors in trust of this my last Will and Testament and revoke and make void all former Wills by me heretofore made In Witness whereof I the said Thomas Holton the Testator to this my last will and Testament contained or written upon one side of two sheets of paper affixed together to the first or preceeding sheet thereof set my hand only and to this second and last sheet thereof my hand and seal the twenty-first day fo August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundref and seventeen.

this last will and Testament in the presence of us
who at his request in his presence and in the
presence each other have subscribed our names
as witness hereto.
