George Nelson (1814-1876) was a Buckingham solicitor who took up residence in Tingewick sometime before the 1861 census, in which he was recorded - aged 47 - with his wife Georgiana Susannah (nee Umney) aged 38 and son George Alfred Uney Nelson aged 16, along with a cook, two house-maids and a footman. They were not recorded there on the 1871 census, but in 1876 both Mr & Mrs Nelson died at their home in Tingewick within two weeks of each other.
