The Aris family

Back Row, left to right Edward, Reginald, Arthur, Albert and Cecil Claude (known as Jim)
Front Row, left to right Elsie, Cecelia (my mother) George Aris (father) Clara Aris (mother) Beatrice aris1930s.jpg The picture was taken we believe 1930 approx.

This shows the whole Aris family with the exception of the eldest son Walter who was killed in action during the First World War. There is another story:- Walter lied about his age to go and fight in France, but his lie was discovered and he was sent back home and had to wait until he was old enough to join the Army. He died when the Lewis Gun he was manning was hit by enemy fire.
