I got wet again yesterday. I was // standing by the rail alone, & the
only two waves shipped all day // came over. Not very wet, really,
only splashed. The day before // I got absolutely wet. Luckily it was
near dinner-time so I went // down to change as usual, only
a little earlier. Yesterday one // of the look-out men was
standing talking to the steward // when the spray came over, & he
called me "a regular Jonah." // It made me think of that
card Mrs Jacques geve me for // my cabin. Oh! that reminds
me. Miss Edwards, my cabin // companion, is a parson's
daughter. She let it out by // accident yesterday. We have quite
a lot of Scotch people aboard
