Raymond Howard (1891-1915) was the great-grandson of John Harvey Holton who was born in Tingewick in 1798. His father Walter Howard died after being thrown from a train and and his brother Harry was killed in an explosion at a gold mine.

The body of Raymond Howard, a former East End resident, was brought to Superior today from Holloway Minnesota, where he died early Monday morning as the result of a runaway accident of the day previous. The funeral services, which have been partly arranged, will be held Friday at the Church of the Redeemer, St. John Avenue and West Fourth Street, at 2 o'clock. Father Ross of St. Albans will probably conduct them. The deceased, who was but 24 years old and unmarried left here last spring for Holloway where he had a farm. He was doing well and was shortly to have been married to a young woman of the Holloway vicinity. Survivors are three brothers and two sisters. The brothers are Walter, Albert and John Howard of the East End and the sisters are Mrs. Alice Cook of Duluth and Mrs. E. Jenkins of Rossland, British Columbia. Details of the accident which cost young Howard his life have not been received, but it is said that he was driving a spirited team which became frightened at a paper, and while running away the wheel hit an obstruction which threw Howard out, breaking his back. He lingered several hours in great pain. The body is at LeSage's undertaking parlors.
