The Will of George Stockley, Wheelwright of Deanshanger, Northamptonshire dated 8th November 1784, proved 27th May 1793

In the Name of God Amen I George Stockley of Denshanger in the Parish of Passenham in the County of Northampton Wheelwright being in indifferent Health of Body and sof sound and disposing Mind and Memory Do make and publish this my Last Will and Testament as follows (that is to say) I desire to be decently Buried in the Church Yard of Tingewick in the County of Bucks. I give and Devise unto my Nephew Thomas Stockley Son of my late Brother Edward Stockley and to his Heirs and Assigns for ever All those my two Messuages or Tenements And all other my Messuages Lands and Estate situate and lying in Paulerspury in the County of Northampton aforesaid With their and every of their Appurtenances Also I give and devise unto my Nephew paul Stockley and to his Heirs and Assigns for ever All and every my Closes Lands and Estate lying and being in the Parish of Tingewick in the County of Bucks aforesaid Subject and charged and chargeable Nevertheless with the Payment of the Sum of Twenty Five Pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain to his Sister Sarah Evans within Six Calendar Months next after my Decease and I do hereby give and bequeath the said Sum of Twenty Five Pounds unto the said Sarah Evans my Neice payable in manner aforesaid and do hereby charge and make Subject the said Lands and Estate last hereinbefore devised to the said Paul Stockley with and to the Payment thereof Also I give and Devise unto my Nephew Edward Stockley and to his Heirs and Assigns for ever All those my two Messuages Cottages or Tenements with their Appurtenances situate and being in Denshanger aforesaid and now or late in the Tenure or Occupation of Charles Adkins and Robert Andrews Also I give and devise unto my Nephew John Stockley and to his Heirs and Assigns for ever All that my Messuage or Tenement with the Appurtenances situate and being in Denhanger aforesaid which is now in my own occupation Also I give and bequeath unto the said John Stockley All my Stock in Trade and Household Goods and Furniture whatsoever in and about the Premises in my own occupation in Denhanger aforesaid Also I give and bequeath unto my Nephew William Stockley the Sum of Seventy Pounds which he now owes me on his Bond Also I give and bequeath unto my Nephew George Stockley the Sum of Twenty Pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain to be paid him by my Executor hereinafter named within Twelve Calendar Months next after my Decease Also I give and bequeath unto my present Servant Mary Charnock if living with me at the Time of my Decease the Sum of Four Guineas of like lawful Money of Great Britain to be paid her by my said Executor as soon as conveniently may be after my Decease Also All the Rest and Residue of my Monies Goods Chattels Rights Credits and Personal Estate whatsoever / remaining after Payment of my just Debts the Legacies hereinbefore by me given and my Funeral Expences / I do hereby give and bequeath unto my said Nephews and Niece Thomas Stockley Paul Stockley Sarah Evans Edward Stockly John Stockley Wm Stockley and George Stockley equally to be divided between and amongst them part and share alike And Lastly I do nominate constitute and appoint my said Nephew William Stockley sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all other Wills whatsoever by me at any time heretofore made or published In Witness whereof the said George Stockley the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and Seal the Eighth day of November in the Twenty fifth Year of the Reign of King George the Third and in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty Four
