The Will of Betty New Tinling

 

In the Name of God Amen  I Betty New Tinling of the Parish of Saint Andrew Holborn London Widow do make publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say that it is my desire that my just debts and funeral & expenses be fully paid and satisfied  Item I give devise and bequeath to William Hardwidge of the Parish of Saint Andrew Holborn London Gent and ______ for a Ring And as to all the rest and residue of my personal Estate of what nature or kind soever I give and bequeath the same in manner following that is to say  I give and bequeath ___ Moiety in half part thereof (?) to the said William Hardwidge In Trust for and to and for the sole and separate use and Benefit of my daughter Betty New Blackford Wife of John Baptist Blackford and to the Intent and Purpose that he the said William Hardwidge his Executors or Administrators do and shall from time to time pay apply and dispose of the same in such manner and form as the said Betty New Blackford shall by any writing under her hand direct or appoint notwithstanding such her said Execture (?) and the Receipt and Receipts of the said Betty New Blackford shall be good and sufficient discharge and discharges for the same notwithstanding her Edverture (? – same word as before) as aforesaid  It being my express Will Meaning and desire that the said Moiety of the residue of my personal Estate so vested in the said William Hardwidge In Trust for my said daughter Betty New Blackford as aforesaid shall be for her own use (?) and separate use Independent from any Claim of her said Husband and the same not to be in any manner subject or liable to his debts Engagements or Controul and as to the other Moiety of the said Residue of my said personal Estate I give and bequeath the said to my daughter Mary Tinling and I do consitute and appoint the said William Ha5rdwidge Betty New Blackford and Mary Tinling Executor and Executrixes of this my Will  In Witness whereof I the said Betty New Tinling the Testatrix have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and seal this eighth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty eight.  Betty New Tinling.  Signed sealed published and declared by the said Betty New Tinling the Testatrix as and for her last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in her presence and in the presence of each other have set our Hands as Witnesses hereto   Enoch Dunkerly, Elizabeth Dunkerly

 

This Will was proved at London the fourteenth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy three before the Worshipfull ffrancis Simpson Doctor of Laws and Surrogate of the Right Worshipfull George Hay Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oaths of William Hardwidge Betty New Blackford wife of John Baptist Blackford and Mary Miller formerly Tinling Wife of Thomas Miller the Executors named in the said Will to whom administration of all and singular the Goods Chattells of the deceased was granted having been first sworn duly to administer.
