Extracts
of will made 4th December 1805
This
is the last will of me Charles Hill of Longclough, Parish of Rocdale,
yeoman.
I
devise unto my two sons Thomas Hill and Samuel Hill, all that my
customary messuage with two cottage houses and those several closes
of customary land to the said messuage belonging, called the Calfcroft,
the two Castle hills, the Longclough foot, the Wast, the Round hill,
the upper and lower meadow, the Newfield, the Burnt and the Broken
Banks standing near Longclough.
Also
my messuage now in the tenure of Henry Rogers, being at Calfholes,
in trust to the use of me and Sarah my wife during our lives and
to the use of the survivor of us, and after the death of the survivor
of us, to be sold. And I direct
that the purchase money shall be considered a part of my personal
estate.
I
give unto Sarah my wife, so much of my household furniture as she
may have occasion to use during her life, but after her death, to
return to my personal estate.
I
will that after the death of the survivor of me and Sarah my wife,
all my personal estate, augmented by the money arising by the sale
of my premises hereinbefore mentioned, shall be divided amongst
my sons Richard Hill, Thomas Hill, Samuel Hill, Charles Hill, Robert
Hill and my daughter Susan.
