To all Christian people etc.
I John Fielden of Hartley Royd in Stansfield in the parish of Heptonstall, yeoman, do make this my last will etc.
I give to my daughter Mary Bancroft, wife of James Bancroft, the great cupboard standing in the parlour, and the seild pair of bedstocks in the parlour.
To my grandchild Martha Bentley al’s Fielden, one chest standing in the middle chamber at the bed foot.
To Thomas Musgrave of Couledge in County York, tradesman, 20 shillings
To Mary Boys, of Hartley Royd, spinster, 5 shillings
To John Fielden of Hundersfield in the county of Lancaster (sic), yeoman, my grandson, one of great brass pott and long table, one cupboard, and one range iron in the house body, and one great stone trough in Syke’s house, the better pair of cart wheels, one waine of hay or corn on turf cart, one dung cart, one foot team and two other teams, and three yokes for oxen, and yoking gear for a horse before beasts.
All rest of goods, etc., equally divided into five parts.
1. To son, Joshua Fielden
2. To son, Nicholas Fielden
3. To daughter, Mary Bancroft of Hartley Royd
4. To children of John Wallbank of Newton, deceased, begotten upon the body of Susan, my daughter, his wife, deceased.
5. To Judith Hargreaves, my youngest daughter, wife of Richard Hargreaves of Foulridge
