LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF NICHOLAS FIELDEN

OF INCHFIELD FOLD IN WALSDEN

1764 TO 1820

Yeoman

This is the last will and testament of me NICHOLAS FIELDEN of Inchfield Fold in Walsden, in the parish of Rochdale, in the county of Lancaster, yeoman.

Whereby in the first place I do will all my just and lawful debts shall be paid, and then I give and bequeath the interest of all my property wheresoever unto my wife DOROTHY, so long as she remains my widow, but not any longer, and at her decease or marriage, which shall first happen, I do will and direct my executors hereinafter named and appointed, to divide my property into four equal shares and pay to each of my children one fourth part at the end of twelve months next after the death of my wife, or when they attain their respective ages of twenty one years.

And in case any of them be then dead, I give the share of such being dead, equally unto and amongst the survivors.

And lastly hereby revoking and making void all former and other will and wills by me herebefore made, I do publish and declare this to be my last will and testament, and thereof do nominate, constitute and appoint my brother JOHN of Warland and my two sons, ABRAHAM and JOHN, joint executors, hoping they will faithfully execute the trust I have in them reposed.

Given under my hand and seal this eleventh day of November, One Thousand, Eight Hundred and Twenty.

Signed, sealed and published by the said NICHOLAS Fielden, the testator as and for his last will and testament in the presence of:

JOHN HEYWORTH

JNO. HOLT
