Leeds Intelligencer 28th January 1793

Cotton or worsted mill to let; new erected mill situate at Rodmer Clough in Stansfield in a populous part of the Parish of Halifax, 4 miles from Todmorden and 2 miles from Hebden Bridge, upon a constant regular stream of water with a fall of 30 feet. A new water wheel with principal machinery calculated for working frames for spinning cotton or worsted are already fixed. A good house is in one end of the mill, and a tenant may be accommodated with a suitable quantity of land if required. Mr. John Greenwood of Haverhillshaw, near the premises, will show them, and further particulars may be had of Mr. Thomas Lister of Halifax, the owner, or of Mr. Robert Alcock of Mayroyd near Hebden Bridge, attorney at law.
