Notes:

Lived on the Rappahanock, Culpeper Co., Virginia at the time of his mother's death. Served in Revolutionary War as a private from Virginia. (DAR 546624, Patriot Index p. 338. GH384 George purchased 200 acres of land in Culpeper Co., Virginia on Nov. 16, 1772 and sold it Aug 13, 1778. He and his family moved to North Carolina in 1778 and to Mercer Co., Kentucky in 1783 where he obtained land on Cedar Creek. When the land was sold and found to contain more acreage than orginally surveyed, John Holloway of Clark Co., Kentucky appeared in court September 23, 1822, to swear that he was the son of George and only heir, and would not bring suit against the new owner. George's undated will was proved March 17, 1793 in Mercer Co., Ky, naming his wife, all of his children, and two grandchildren by his son Clayton Holloway (deceased).
