Notes:

Raised in orphanage. Came to Newtown when still young, Made his home with Thomas Perry. Will drawn 4/13/1870 - probated 1/31/1871 - 15088 Vol. 12:44. The original record was destoyed in the courthouse fire of 3/29/1884, but the original will was preserved and later filed at the order of the probate judge. Item 1. All just debts and funeral expenses to be paid. 2. The widow, Sarah Baldwin Leaf, shall have a life estate in the home far and 20 acres ourchased of John Turner in lien of dower and share of personal property; also $1000; also my horse, buggy and harness. 3. Isaac Leaf to receive 140 acres of Michael Turner farm. 4. Jane Long - the balance of Michael Turner farm - 40 acres. 5. Elizabeth Broadwell - $1000. 6. George Leaf - my gold watch. 7. John, George, Michael, Thomas, Daniel and Isaac share and share alike the balance of personal property. 8. Six sons to have farm and 20 acres purchased of John Turner at Sarah Leaf's death. 9. Michael Leaf, Executor of Will.
