Notes:

Antonius Knussli/Kneisely was born September 20, 1657 in Eggiwil, Switzerland. He immigrated in 1717 to Conestoga Twp. Lancaster Co. Pennsylvania. Tradition has been that the original Kneisley's/Kneissel Family was established in America by Anthony and his three sons, John, George and Anthony. They came from Switzerland and due to religious persecution, they immigrated to the Palinate area of Germany and then to Rotterdam, Holland. They and others by the name of Andreas Kauffman who married Elizabeth Knussli and Isaac Kauffman who married Anna Knussli, Micheal Miller who married Barbara Knussli, John Witmer, Hans Shank, Hans Brubaker, Henry Musselman, with their families (embracing some 363 persons) came to Philidelphia a few days before 8 September 1717 where they seem to have been met by Martin Kendig and Hans Herr who conducted them to Lancaster Co. Pennsylvania. Antonius Knussli was married to Magdalena Hempstead before 1690. Magdalena was born in 1665.
