Cook Family Reunion:
The reunion of the Cook "boys", all natives of this county and this section, was held on the old Cook homestead in the town of Lee, now occupied by Elisha Cook, on Saturday, and was an event of considerably more than ordinary importance, fruitful, with pleasant recollections and food for thought for years to come, yes, for a lifetime, for some of the members of the family who are now approaching the time of life when years are shortened, and the span drawing to a close.
This was the first time that all the brothers had met together in one group in 29 years, and many changes has occurred. Brothers from as far west as Kansas, from Illinois, and from farms in this county, together with their relatives met in one group, the happy enimination of months and months of thought and preparation.
The Cook brothers certainly deserve congratulations for their longevity and health. There were six brothers in the family, all living and enjoying, despite their years, good health and strength. The oldest is past 73, the youngest past 50 years, and are a fine looking, well preserved body of men. James, of Wilmington, Ill, is the eldest of the brothers and is past 73 years, Allen of Taberg comes next, aged 72, Milo of Fort Scott, Kansas, is 67, Elisha of Taberg, 65, Charles of Taberg, 60, and Chauncey of Lee, 52 years old.
