Infanger, Lester

Lester Infanger, 79, of Raymondsville, formerly of Rome and Verona Beach, died Sunday, Jan. 20, 1980, in Massena Hospital after a long illness. Born on April 3, 1900, in Utica, he was a son of Charles F. and Mary E. Zorn Infanger. He married Pearl Dean on Sept. 9, 1921, in Taberg. She died on July 14, 1977. Infanger was co-owner and operator of Infanger's Texaco Station in Verona Beach until his wife died in 1977. He was also employed by Rome Cable for several years. He attended Taberg and Camden schools. He was a Protestant and member of the Hathaway Masonic Lodge. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Virginia I. Henry, Oneida, a sister, Mrs. Chester L. (Lillian) Van Gleasen, San Diego, a brother, Arthur Infanger, Auburn, three grandchildren and a great granddaughter. Services will be held at the Strong Funeral Home at 10:30 am Tuesday. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.


Infanger, Pearl Dean

Verona Beach - Mrs. Lester F. Infanger, 76, formerly of Rome, died Thursday after being stricken at home. The former Pearl Dean, she was born in Taberg July 3, 1901, daughter of John and Lillian Crossman Dean. She was educated in Taberg and Camden schools. She and Mr. Infanger were married Sept 9, 1921 in Taberg. They co-owned Infanger's Texaco Station at Verona Beach. Mrs. Infanger was a member of the First Baptist Church, Rome, and for many years taught Sunday school there. She also worked with several youth groups while in Rome, and as a vocal soloist sang at numerous church and civic activities throughout the area. Mrs. Infanger was also a member of the Vienna Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. Surviving with her husband are a daughter, Mrs. Virginia I. Henry, Oneida, a brother, Arthur J. Dean, Seifert Corners, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 11 Monday at the Strong Funeral Home, with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery, Taberg.

IRISH - Agnes F. Flagg Irish, widow of Robert Irish, on Tuesday, September 17, 1996, age 96 years. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in St. Peters Cemetery.

Robert A. Irish, 65, of 515 E. Garden St., died this morning at his home, after a long illness.

He was born May 19, 1897, in Worthington, England, son of James and Bridget Ryan Irish, came to this country at the age of five and attended St. Aloysius Academy.

On Sept. 21, 1926, in St. Peters Church, he married Agnes M. Flagg with the late Rev. Msgr. James J. Carson officiating.

He had lived in Rome for the past 60 years, and was employed by the New York Central Railroad for 40 years, retiring in 1960.

He was a communicant of St. Peters Church and a member of its Holy Name Society.

He was also a member of Independent Hose Co. No. 1, and the Rome Firemen's Benevolent Assn.

Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Mrs. Joseph F. (Patricia A.) Christopher and a son, Robert B., both of Rome, two sisters, Mrs. Henry (Anna) Miller, Cleveland, NY, and Mrs. W. B. (Cecilia)McMahon, Rome, two brothers, Joseph, Montreal, Canada, and James of Ellenville, NY, and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Martin J. Nunn Funeral Home Wednesday. Interment will be in St. Peters Cemetery.
