Wampsville - Mrs. Betty Maycock, 67, of Route 5, a former court deputy of Madison County Sheriffs Department, died at her home Saturday, June 20, 1987, after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Rome July 25, 1919, a daughter of George and Elizabeth Stratton Kessler. In Rome on April 16, 1949, she married George Maycock.
Mrs. Maycock was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Oneida, Dorcas Daughters and Lake Delta Chapter of Order of the Eastern Star, of which she was past matron.
Surviving are her husband, a daughter, Sandra Glynn, Clinton, five sons, Paul R. Eastwood, Illinois, Brian Eastwood, Wampsville, David S. Eastwood, Vernon, Jason Maycock, Cortland, and Jonathan Maycock, Rome, a sister, Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Henry, Holland Patent, 20 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held today at First Presbyterian Church, Oneida. There are no calling hours.

George H. Maycock, 84, of Wampsville, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2001 at the Presbyterian Home, New Hartford. He was born in Rome on October 12, 1917, son of Jason and Leila Maycock, and was educated in Oneida. On April 16, 1949, he married Betty Kessler who died in 1987.
Mr. Maycock was employed as a plumber and steamfitter by Maycock and Evans, Oneida, and was a member of Steamfitters Local 112. He served in the US Army with the 174th Field Artillery Battalion during World War II, and participated in several European battles, including the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Oneida and Sherrill American Legion Post 230 and was recently awarded the New York State Medal for Merit.
He is survived by sons, Jason and Jonathan, grandchildren, Craig and Trista, Canastota, step-children and spouses, Paul and Dorothy Eastwood, Illinois, Brian and Daryl Eastwood, Canastota, Sandra Glynn, Wampsville, David & Fay Eastwood, Verona, brothers and spouses, Lyle and Shirley Maycock, Oneida Castle, Nelson Maycock, Rome, as well as numerous step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 20 at the First Presbyterian Church, Oneida.
