Canastota - Mrs. Claude Rouse, 31, of Canastota RD 3, died Saturday in the Roswell Memorial Park, Buffalo, after a long illness. The former Cathryn Kessler, she was born on Sept. 25, 1922, in Rome, daughter of George and Elizabeth Stratton Kessler. She was a 1940 graduate of Rome Free Academy. She was married to Claude Rouse on May 26, 1973. Mrs. Rouse was employed in the Miss Oneida Diner for four years. She was a member of Ladies of the Moose, Oneida. Besides her husband she leaves her father of Rome and two sisters, Mrs. George (Betty) Maycock, Wampsville, and Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Henry, Floyd. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Wednesday at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Canastota. Burial will be in Peterboro Cemetery.
