September 30, 1983Eleanor Augusta Evans died Tuesday morning at the Mohawk Valley General Hospital, Ilion. She was born in Rochester, March 26, 1914, the daughter of Leo and Louise Gartz Houser and was married toJulian J. Evans, August 28, 1940. Mr. Evans died April 6, 1977. She retired from the Dolgeville Central School Cafeteria in 1979, was an active member of the Zion Lutheran Church in DOlgeville and its Sunday school and L. C. W.
She is survived by a son, Julian J. Evans Jr., Anderson, Ky, a daughter, Judith Welsh, Richmond, Va., five brothers, Leo Houser, Rochester, Clarence and Ralph Houser both of Dolgeville, Richard of Frankfort, and Winifred of San Francisco, two sisters, Mrs. Bernice Clemons, Dolgeville and Mrs. Marilyn Balderston, Remsen, four grandchildren, one great-grandson.
