November 10, 1999Martha D. Grogan, age 78 years, of 114 E. Sycamore St., Rome, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, at Stonehedge Nursing Home, Rome, following of brief illness.
She was born Sept. 15, 1921 in Rome, the daughter of Frank and Ethel Brown Houser.
Mrs. Grogan was a graduate of West Leyden High School.
On Feb. 10, 1941 she married Neal (Jack) Dunn in Rome. He died Feb. 8, 1967. Later, on July 19, 1969, she married William B.Grogan in Rome.
Mrs. Grogan was employed at the New York State School for the Deaf for eleven years.
She was a member of St. Paul's Church, Rome.
Mrs. Grogan was a member of the Mimosa Chapter of the Rome Twig.
Surviving besides her husband are one daughter and son-in-law, Sally and Arthur Simmons, Trail, B. C., Canada, two sons and one daughter-in-law, Michael Dunn, Rome, Timothy and Kathy Dunn, Ormond Beach, Florida, five sisters, and three brothers-in-law, Mrs. Mona Jones, Verona, Audrey and Harold Graham, Melbourne, Florida, Leah and Aaron Beyel, West Leyden, twin sister Mary and Patrick Moshetti, Oneida, Mrs. Katherine Clanton, Oneida, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two step-daughters and their spouses, Cheryl and Steven Jacobs, Rome and Kristen and Glen Eugene Haskell, Chardon, Ohio, and two sisters-in-law, Fannie Houser, Vernon, Ruth Grogan, Rome, several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Chester Houser.
Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery.
