Miss Louise D. Brown, 82, a resident of the Oneida Healthcare Center Extended Care Facility since August 17, 2000, died Thursday, June 13, 2002 in the Oneida Healthcare Center following a lengthy illness.

Louise was born on March 6, 1920 in Vienna, the daughter of David A. and Elvira M. Mott Brown. She attended Canastota schools.

Louise was the owner and operator of Brown's Campground at Fish Creek Landing from 1960 - 1974. She had previously been employed at Camden Wire Co.

Louise moved to Oneida in 1976 from Fish Creek and resided at 516 Cleveland Ave. for many years, then moved to 401 Williams Street and the Oneida Towers before entering the Extended Care Facility.

She was a former member of the Vienna Methodist Church and a member of the Oneida Chapter AARP.

Surviving is one sister, Marjorie L. Brown, also a resident of the Extended Care Facility, one sister-in-law, Mary C. Brown of Canastota, three nephews, David Brown of Canastota, Dennis Brown of Peterboro, Dale Brown of Sylvan Beach, and several cousins. She was predeceased by one brother, J. Silas Brown in 1974.

Funeral services will be held Saturday from the Ironside Funeral Home. Interment will be made in the McConnellsville Cemetery.
