Former Vienna Man Passes Away in Camden
William E. Brown, Highly Respected Citizen, Laid at Rest Monday-----Born in 1854
William E. Brown, 73, a native of the Town of Vienna, passed away at the home of his son, Roth Brown, on the Camden-Westdale road, late Friday afternoon.
Mr. Brown was born in the Town of Vienna, October 30, 1854 and had lived in that town until about six years ago when he came to Camden to make his home with his daughter, Mrs. Edward Cole. A few weeks ago, he went to his son's home where he died.
For many years, Mr. Brown was a faithful employee of the Frank S. Harden Company.
Besides the son and daughter mentioned, he leaves these other children: Charles E. Brown of Boonville, Martin F. Brown of Middleport, Albert M. Brown of Rome, and Mrs. J. B. Dawson of Oneida.
The funeral was held at 3 PM Monday from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Edward Cole of Second Street. The Rev. C. G. Roop of the Methodist Church officiated. The bearers were his four sons and two sons-in-law: Charles, Martin, Roth and Albert Brown and Edward Cole and J. B. Dawson. Burial was in the cemetery at McConnellsville. There was a large and beautiful display of floral tributes.
Those present from out of town to attend the services were: Mr. and Mrs. Chas. E. Brown, Harlow Brown, Boonville; Mr. and Mrs. Martin S. Brown and little daughter Jeanne, Middleport; Mr. Albert M. Brown, Rome; Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Dawson, Marian Dawson and Mr. and Mrs. L.P. Raut, Oneida; Mr. and Mrs. John Brown, Van Brown, and Mr. and Mrs. Ollie Crook, Syracuse; Mr. Heath Morse, Amsterdam; Mr. Orville Brown, Sylvan Beach; Mr. David Brown, Vienna; Mr. Linley Mott and Harris Mott, Altmar.
