Rome Sentinel
February 10, 1975James C. Carpenter, 44, RD 5, Tanner Road, died Sunday in Rome Hospital after a long illness. Mr. Carpenter was born on Dec. 31, 1930 in Rome, son of Melvin C. & Anastasia Smith Carpenter. He attended Rome schools. For the past two years he was manager of the Fort Rickey Game Farm. Prior to that he was employed by the Rome Specialty Co. for 13 years.
Mr. Carpenter was a member of the Lee Center Rod and Gun Club. He is survived by his mother, with whom he resided; two sisters, Mrs. Ansel E. (Edith) Carrier and Mrs. Alfred C. (Mary) Eastup, both of Rome; six brothers, Richard P., Lee Center, and Edward S., Neil Joseph, Dennis W., Anthony and Bernard Carpenter, all of Rome, and several nieces and nephews. Another brother, Robert P., died on Oct. 6, 1974.
Funeral services will be held at 8:34 am Wednesday at the Martin J. Nunn Funeral Home and at 9:30 at St. Mary's Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
