Carrier, Edith S. Carpenter

Mrs. Edith S. Carrier, 56, of Tannery Road, an employee of the Rome Club for 10 years and former employee of Kraft Foods, died Wednesday June 1, 1983 in Rome Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Rome on Aug. 1, 1926, she was a daughter of Melvin C. and Anastasia Smith Carpenter. She was educated in Rome and Camden schools. On Aug. 21, 1948, she married Ansel E. Carrier in St. Mary's Church.

Surviving besides her mother and husband are a daughter, Miss Kelley Jo Carrier, at home, a sister, Mrs. Alfred C. (Mary) Eastup, Rome, and six brothers, Edward S., Corneilous, Bernard G., all of Rome, Richard P. Lee Center, Dennis W., Sylvan Beach, and Gail A. Cleburne Texas.

Services will be held at the Martin J. Nunn Funeral Home and at St. Mary's Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
