Herbst, Christine I. Leffert

Mrs. Christine I. Herbst, who would have been 65 years old on Thursday of this week, died at 5:20 pm yesterday in her home, 106 N. Charles St., after a long illness. She was the wife of Lauren W. Herbst, the city's parking meter officer. He survives with a son, Lauren W. Herbst Jr., at home, two brothers, Charles M. and Frank W. Leffert, both of Rome, a half brother, Melvin Carpenter, New London, and an aunt, Mrs. Alice Armstrong, Taberg. Mrs. Herbst was born in Rome on Oct. 19, 1896, daughter of Jacob and Edith Mansfield Leffert and was married to Mr. Herbst on Oct. 25, 1917, in St. Mary's Church. She was a member of that church and of its Rosary Society. Funeral services will be held Thursday at Griffin & Aldridge. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
