Durhamville - Ronald N. "Sarge" Loomis, 46, of Yager Road, died today at his home after a long illness. He was born in Oneida, NY on June 17, 1944, a son of Leland and Frances Brown Loomis, and had attended Camden Central Schools. He married Deborah Raymond in Taberg, NY on May 15, 1982. Mr. Loomis was a master sergeant with the U. S. Army for 20 years, retiring in 1987 as a recruiter. He was vice commander at the Sylvan Beach American Legion #1153. Surviving besides his wife are one daughter, Christy Ann Loomis of Rome, one son, Joseph Lauren Loomis of Rome, two stepdaughters, Kelly Witchley of Rome and Kimberly Witchley of Durhamville, three sisters, Mrs. James (Dorothy) Yannone of Catskill, NY, Mrs. Harry (Minnie) Prosser, Camden, and Mrs. Roy (Shirley) Blowers of Sylvan Beach, one brother, Robert Loomis of Durhamville, several nieces and Nephews. He was predeceased by three brother, Wesley, Lauren and Roger, and two sisters, Barbara Loomis and Joyce Nichols. Funeral will be held Tuesday at the Sanborn-McDaniels & LoRobardiere Funeral Home, Camden. Interment in Vienna Cemetery with full military honors.
