Fish Creek Landing, Jan. 19 - Mrs. Betsy A. Mansfield, aged 87 yrs, died suddenly on Tuesday (Jan. 17) afternoon at her home here. She had been troubled with heart difficulty for some time and had been under medical treatment therefor, but was able to be about and do her own work. She felt as well as usual on Tuesday and prepared her own meals. She had eaten her dinner and was washing the dishes when she felt somewhat faint and sat down on a chair. Suddenly she slid from the chair to the floor and died without saying a word. Mrs. Mansfield was born at Bartlett, in the town of Westmoreland, and was a daughter of David Harris. She married David Mansfield, who died many years ago. She had lived in this town for the past 40 years. While a resident of Bartlett she was a member of the Baptist Church, but in recent years had attended the ME Church. Mrs. Mansfield was a woman of many excellent qualities and had a large number of friends who held her in high esteem. She is survived by one son, Milo H. Mansfield of 729 Calvert St, one daughter, Mrs. Elbert Brown of Vienna, and one sister Mrs. Olive Tinney of California. Her funeral will be held at her late home tomorrow (Friday) at 11 am with interment in Rathbunville Cemetery.
